Cambridge Open Studios

On Sunday afternoon my family and I popped over to Cambridge to see my friend and excellent basket maker, Sally Roach. She is taking part in Cambridge open studios and will open her house and studio again during the last weekend in July, the 25th and 26th from 11am-6pm.

There is a vast array of work on display. Sally’s favoured technique is plaiting with a wide variety of materials including maps, cane and paper string. Some of Sally baskets in rush and willow were also on show, demonstrating her wide ranging talents!  Do go along and see her if you get a chance. It’s basketry but perhaps not as you know it!
